NHMP Rahbar - Application System Development for National Highway & Motorway Police (NHMP) to provide live assistance to the road users on Motorways
National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP), are committed to ensure a safe and secure driving environment on National Motorways and National Highways and serve the commuters by providing them with the prompt assistance. All motorways and major national highways are under the jurisdiction of NH&MP. The primary objectives of the NH&MP include regulate/control traffic on motorways and highways, enforcement of traffic rules, provide roadside assistance to the commuters and educate the road users on road safety. NH&MP is regarded as one of the best national institutions serving the road users across Pakistan. To improve the quality of their service to the nation, we worked in collaboration with NH&MP on number of projects and NHMP RAHBAR mobile application is one of them. We developed a mobile application, referred to as NHMP RAHBAR, to facilitate the commuters on the National Motorways. Currently, the mobile application is equipped with the following (notable) features:
- 1. Travel Advisory
Provides information about the condition on each toll-plaza including congestion level, visibility level (fog/smog) and operational status (open or close).
- 2. Traffic Alerts
Traffic Alerts are the warning statements issued by Motorway Police to ensure the safety of the commuters on motorway.
- 3. Live Chat
Through this feature, users will be able to interactively communicate with the NHMP staff in real-time.
- 4. Incident Reporting
A location-based service though which user will be able to report any incident/accident on motorway. Through this feature, NHMP will get precise location and nature of the incident and consequently take appropriate actions.
- 5. Roadside Assistance
A location-based service though which user can seek roadside assistance in case of any breakdown. User sends the precise location and nature of the required service. This information will enable NHMP to efficiently provide the correct type of assistance to the road user.
